37th Annual Schuylkill River Loop Run: 9 AM Start/ Distance: 8.4 Miles
                                                                                                              
Where:  Start and Finish at Lloyd Hall, Boathouse Row of Philadelphia  (Sedgley and Kelly Dr)

       The Schuylkill River Loop Run- This 8.4 mile fall classic race follows Philadelphia's
           most beautiful recreational path's around the Schuylkill River.  Started in 1972 by Dave
           Brier of the Jewish Y, this race has been a local favorite race for 36 years. The course is
           run on the sidewalk and is self contained the whole way and free of any traffic.  The course
           passes many historic sites including the Rocky statue and the Art Museum steps he made
           famous, the East Falls Bridge, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Strawberry Mansion Bridge, and Boat
           House Row. The course is almost completely flat.  "The Loop" race is a great last race
           tuneup before the Philadelphia Marathon!

           
Schuylkill River Loop Team Championship- Teams composed of unlimited amount of
           individual registered runners in the 8.4 mile race with the total of the top 3 overall places                                        
            counted for scoring.  Lowest total of top 3 runners win.  Runners must enter their team                                            
            name prior to race.   All-male and all-female team categories only.

Amenities:  T-Shirts to the first 250 who enter, mile markers at 1,3,5,6 miles and 5 mile time given in Loop.
                 Water and Gatorade on the course.  Parking on street at Boathouse Row area and in public lots.
        
Race Site:     Race Start/Finish/Registration is at Lloyd Hall (1st Boathouse on Boathouse Row). Located at
               the corner of Sedgley St and Kelly Drive. (directly behind the Art Museum) on Kelly Drive.

                          $250 Bonus to the winner of the race who breaks the Loop Record!
Time Bonus:    $100 to any male runner under 42:30  and any female runner under 50 :00.

Awards :               Loop Race Awards will be at 10:30 am at Lloyd Hall

                     2nd & 3rd Place Overall............Male/Female..............gift certificate and award
                     Master Winner.......................... Male/Female..............gift certificate and award
                     Age Group awards to top 3 in the following :
19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69,70+
                               
Team Championship      Top 2 All Men Team and Top 2 All Female Team  .


Race Benefits:        Proceeds of the event will benefit the development and maintenance of Fairmount Park,
                              specifically around Kelly Drive and the Belmont Plateau Cross Country Courses. Philadelphia
                              Athletic Charities is committed to providing for the upkeep of these vital recreational areas
                              which are used by thousands of runners.
