EVENT DETAILS

TRACK PENTATHLON
3000 METER * 800 METER * 200 METER * 1500 METER * 400 METER

The track pentathlon  is a  truly unique track competition where sprinter competes against distance runner,
young buck against seasoned veteran, and woman against man!  After 5 grueling track events, we will find out
who is the best overall track athlete.  The Track Pentathlon builds camaraderie like no other event as
competitors huddle together trying to recover prior to the next challenging race! The track is a 6 lane, all
weather rubberized (Only 1/4 inch spike or flats). Start blocks will be available.

The first event starts at 8am (sharp) with all races spaced 35 minutes apart. Each athlete will be seeded into
groups based on your recent 800 meter time (or best estimate). Points are tabulated for each race
(age/gender graded) with awards based on a total score for the 5 races.
Age Graded Scoring :  The age/
gender graded tables measure how close an athlete comes to the world standard for their age and gender.
The Philadelphia Track Pentathlon will present a rare opportunity for men and women , young and old, to
compete directly against each other "on a level playing field", thus eliminating separate awards for men,
women, and age groups.
For a complete explanation of age grading.  For a look at the calculation chart.

THROWS TRIATHLON
SHOT PUT * JAVELIN * DISCUS

The Throws Triathlon is a unique field event that allows the throwers to compete in 3 disciplines to see who is
the overall best thrower!  Scores will be based on your present age-not by five-year age brackets. Four throws
per implement (bring your own implements). All-weather rubberized runway for javelin. Flights will be
determined based on recent performances - not by sex or age.  Points are calculated for each event
(age/gender graded), and awards will be based on a total score for the three events. The Philadelphia Throws
Triathlon will present a rare opportunity for men and women, young and old  to compete directly against each
other on a "level playing field", thus eliminating special awards for men, women and age groups.  Implements
will be weighed starting at 7:00 am. Competition will start at 8am sharp!  Age Graded Scoring: The
age/gender graded tables measure how close an athlete comes to the world standard for their age and
gender.
